ARLINGTON DROPS PLAN FOR JAIL RELEASE CENTER

Arlington officials have scrapped plans for a 130-bed center for soon-to-be-released prisoners, drug addicts and the homeless that was opposed by some county residents.

"This allows us to take additional time to look at the facilities we need," County Manager Anton S. Gardner said Friday. "We will take the summer to work with the community on this."
