PENNINGTON WINS FEATURE AT FRANKLIN COUNTY TRACK

Frankie Pennington of Lexington won the 50-lap Kingery Brothers 300 Late Model stock-car race at Franklin County Speedway on Saturday night.

Dickie Wilson of Salem finished second in front of Dudley Lawhorne of Rustburg. The race was red-flagged for an accident involving Rodney Cundiff and John Cox, who was taken to the hospital for a possible shoulder injury.

Randy Arrington held off Jay Foley and Kenny Wagner to win the action-filled Street Stock event. Foley, Wagner and Jim Mullins traded positions several times in the race.

Steve Dalton won the Mini-Stock race. Sonny Arrington finished just in front of Shelby Cundiff, a woman competitor from Vinton.

Chad Smith won the Six-Cylinder race in front of Brian Spangler and Wilton Cromer.

Clifford Jackson won the rookie event.
