Alexander Sztanko lived about a half mile from where his body was found. He was last seen going off to ride his dirt bike and meet up with friends Saturday afternoon.
County police early today announced the arrest of Michael Carl George, 32, of Hartwood, who was found walking through the woods early Sunday.
George was arrested for trespassing through the private woods, said county police Sgt. Bary Barnard. After questioning, George was charged with murder.
Barnard said Sztanko's green motorcycle has not been found.
A Spotsylvania County deputy sheriff who was among 75 searchers found Sztanko about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Barnard refused to comment on the cause of death or a possible motive in the case and would not release what evidence was found at the murder site. He said an autopsy would be performed.
Gail Sztanko said her son was to enter the 10th grade near their new home in Manassas. She said he usually was not allowed to ride alone, but Saturday she had allowed him to try to catch up with his friends.
A preliminary hearing for George has been set for July 17.
