NELSON, R. CALVIN\ BOONES MILL - R. Calvin Nelson, died Sunday, June 17, 1990, at his home in Boones Mill. He was a retired architect from Eubank & Caldwell Associated and was a life time member and past exalted ruler of BPOE Lodge #197. Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Pat and Richard E. Lucas; three grandchildren, Lynn L. and Jim Wimmer; Leslie L. and Glenn Young; and Richard N. Lucas, all of Roanoke; four great-grandchildren, Amy, Robert and Jeffrey Young and Steven Wimmer; one sister, Louise Slayton; two brothers, Von and Sam Patterson, all of South Boston. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 21 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Arthur E. Grant and Elks Lodge #197 will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Elks Boys Camp, the Boones Mill Rescue Squad, the Roanoke Garden Social or Woodlawn Church.
