OBIT VAUGHN, S. AUSTINVILLE
Mr. Steven Daniel Vaughn, better known as Dan Vaughn, 87 yrs. of age, passed
away Tuesday, June 19, 1990 at the West County Community Hospital at
Wytheville. He was born in Carroll County, Va., July 25, 1902, a son of John
Marshall Vaughn and Effie Margaret Flanagan Vaughn. He was a retired
accountant for the Allied Chemical Company. He was a resident of the Laurel
Community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Annah Vaughn. He is
survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ophelia Goad, Navarra, Ohio; Mrs. Dessie
White, Galax; Mrs. Guida Hillick, Ennis, N.C.; Mrs. Annie Austin, Austinville;
seven sons, Mr. Glendye Vaughn, Massillo, Ohio; Mr. Bob Vaughn, Navarra, Ohio;
Mr. Coy Vaughn, Max Meadows; Mr. Marshall Vaughn, Mr. Dean Vaughn, Mr. Ray
Vaughn, and Mr. John Vaughn, all of Austinville; three sisters, Mrs. Olene
Cox, Galax; Mrs. Opal Jones; Reidsville, N.C.; Mrs. Artie Lindsey, Richmond;
two brothers, Mr. Lee Vaughn, and Mr. Harva Vaughn, both of Austinville; 27
grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday,
June 21, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant View Church with the Rev. John W.
Akers, officiating. Interment in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive
friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the
Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville.
