COUNTRY MUSICIAN COMPETITION PLANNED

Country musicians will have a chance to compete for a trophy, cash prizes and the possibility of performing with Ronnie McDowell at JB's Silver Spur on July 14.

It is a preliminary part of the ninth annual True Value/GMC Truck Country Showdown, sponsored in the area by FM-94 radio station in Marion. Entry forms are available at the station, JB's, and participating True Value Hardware stores and GMC truck dealerships.

The entry deadline is July 1. Further details are available from Ken Heath, program director at FM-94 (telephone 783-3151 or 783-9400).

More than 100,000 people competed nationally in last year's contest. It is open to anyone who has never had a national recording contract.
