Mr. Rodney (Crom) Pannell, age 34, of Bunch Dr., N.W., died Tuesday in a local hospital. Survivors include his wife, Janice Pannell; one daughter, Shanika Pannell; one son, Rodney Poindexter; his mother, Katherine Mayo, all of Roanoke; his father, James Pannell, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Jessie Pannell, Edna Vernon, both of Roanoke; and Sharon Oliver of Richmond; five brothers, Larry Pannell, Abdul Ahmad, Rev. Joseph Mayo, all of Roanoke; Everett Mayo and Darrell Mayo, both of Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James L. Moore will officiate assisted by Elder Louis Hardy with burial in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The procession will assemble at 2911 Melrose Ave., N.W. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
