EX-COACH TO SPEAK AT SPORTS BANQUET

Charles "Chuck" Hamm, state supervisor of health and education for the Virginia Department of Education, will be the main speaker for the Wythe County Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet Aug. 2 at Fort Chiswell High School.

He previously coached football in Wythe County, at Fort Chiswell and George Wythe High Schools.

The 7 p.m. banquet will see Kent Umberger, Charles Freeman, R. William Arthur, Danny Copenhaver and the late Roy Irvin added to the county's Sports Hall of Fame. Tickets will be on sale at the door. - Southwest bureau
