DEATH MAY BE SOUGHT FOR ACCUSED KILLER

A Prince William County prosecutor said Thursday he will seek the death penalty for a man accused of torturing, shooting and killing a 15-year-old boy if further evidence supports a case of capital murder.

Michael George, 32, of Stafford County, was arrested after the body of Alexander Sztanko of Manassas was discovered Sunday in a heavily wooded area less than 2 miles from his home.

The boy had a gunshot wound to his head, Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert said.

George, a former computer operator, was being held without bond in the Prince William County detention center.

He had pleaded guilty in 1984 to the 1978 abduction and involuntary manslaughter of an 8-year-old Dumfries youth. In that case, he served 2 1/2 years before being paroled.
