Both shifts will be down the week of August 20, Jane Smith, human resources manager, said in a news release. This brings the total shutdown for August to two full weeks for both shifts.
The decision to close temporarily rather than make adjustments to the production rate was based on continued predictions that the market will take an upturn after the summer, Smith said.
