UP TO CHRISTIANS TO PROTECT THE FUTURE

MY GRANDSON graduated from Patrick Henry High School June 14. He has gone through 12 years of public school without knowing the Pledge of Allegiance, the Preamble of the Constitution or love of country. He did not attend assembly weekly as I did, and where I learned these things. We took it for granted these things were being taught.

Because the Christian community has allowed God to be taken out of so much, will our Pledge in the future say: "One nation under siege, with drugs and .357 Magnums for all"?

I feel it is up to the Christian community to rectify what has happened and to protect the future. GLORIA A. DORMA ROANOKE
