\ WYTHEVILLE - Mrs. Mildred F. James, age 75, a resident of Birdmont Manor, died Monday, June 25, 1990, in Birdmont Manor. She was a native of Big Sandy, W. Va. and was a former Abingdon, Va. resident of 245 Barter Dr., from 1944 until moving to Wytheville in February. She was a retired school teacher who taught in the Washington County, Va. Schools. She was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, J. H. James of the Asbury Center, Wytheville, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Donna J. Copenhaver of Radford, Va.; one son, J. H. James, Jr. of Dublin, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Sweet of Charlotte, N. C. and Mrs. Randolph Clevinger of Bluefield, W. Va.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Abingdon United Methodist Church, Abingdon, Va., with the Rev. Clarence G. Dishman and the Rev. Henry Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon. Men of the Charles Wesley Bible Class will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Campbell Funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. Campbell Funeral Home in Abingdon is in charge of the arrangements.
