AT&T PLANS 2 CUT IN INTERSTATE RATES

American Telephone and Telegraph Co. said Thursday it will reduce its evening interstate long-distance rates by about 5 percent and daytime rates by a half-percent Sunday as part of a $300 million overall price cut.

The company also will reduce the prices of operator-assisted calls, calls to Canada and its Reach Out America long-distance calling plan. If the Federal Communications Commission approves, the rates will fall an average 2.2 percent, AT&T said. - Associated Press
