PLAYHOUSE CONCLUDES SEASON

The Ellington Fellowship Playhouse in Lynchburg will conclude its season Saturday at 9 p.m. with a performance and jam session by Parr Four and Piedmont Jazz.

Parr Four combines be-bop, Latin and funk for its sound. Frank Coffey, band director for Appomattox County Schools, plays saxophone and flute with the group. Other members include guitarist Greg Ferris, drummer Denny Rinker and bassist Ed Mikenas.

Piedmont Jazz features vocalist Marcia Alarr with pianist Henry Powell, trumpeter Ernest Deane, bassist Allen Pannell and drummer Richard Satterfield.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at L. Oppelman's, Billy Shears and Jasmine/E.I. Randle.
