CHORUS, CRAFTS, FIREWORKS TO MARK HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS

Area Fourth of July celebrations will feature a community chorus, crafts and - of course - fireworks.

\ Smith Mountain Lake: The second annual Liberty Celebration will be held at Smith Mountain Lake State Park on Tuesday.

The festivities begin at 7 p.m. The community chorus will perform the Liberty Cantata, complete with dramatic vignettes portraying historical and folk heroes.

Visitors are encouraged to carpool because of limited parking. There will be a $5 per car parking fee.

The celebration is sponsored by the Smith Mountain Lake Partnership and the Smith Mountain Arts Council.

\ Rocky Mount: The Rocky Mount Rotary Club is sponsoring a Fourth of July Spectacular with a crafts show, food and fireworks at Franklin County High School.

\ Bedford: The Bedford Parks and Recreation Association will sponsor a day-long celebration at Liberty Lake Park, with fireworks display at night.
