HILLSVILLE MAN KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT

A 24-year-old Hillsville man died early Saturday after his car ran off Virginia 100, tumbled down an embankment and struck a tree.

Gary Wayne Mundy Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:15 a.m. accident, which occurred about three miles north of Hillsville.

He was not wearing a seatbelt, a state police dispatcher said.
