ROCKETS ADD FOUR YEARS TO FLOYD'S PACT

Guard Sleepy Floyd has signed a four-year contract extension with the Houston Rockets, general manager Steve Patterson announced Monday.

Terms of Floyd's contract agreement with the NBA team were not released.

Floyd, 30, of Gastonia, N.C., averaged 12.2 points and 7.3 assists in 1989-90. He has averaged 7.5 assists in 223 games since he was acquired from Golden State on Dec. 12, 1987.

In other basketball:

Former Virginia Tech standout Perry Young, a center for Calgary, will represent the West team July 11 in the World Basketball League All-Star game. Also making the team were former Duke guard Chip Engelland of Calgary and former Memphis State players Vincent Askew (center) and Andre Turner (guard) of Memphis.
