\ CHRISTIANSBURG - John B. Vaughan Sr., age 90, of 335 Depot Street, Christiansburg, Va., departed this life Friday, July 13, 1990, at the Montgomery County Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, Va. He was born March 29, 1900, in Floyd County, Va., the son of the late Sam W. Vaughan and Ada Edwards Vaughan. He was a retired employee of Radford College in Radford, Va. He had also been employed by the Mill Creek Mining Company in Barlow, W.Va., the Crozier Coal and Coke Company, Crozier, W.Va., and the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, Radford, Va. He had also owned his own cab company in Christiansburg. He was preceded in death by two wives, Harriet Carr Vaughan and Verna Lewis Vaughan; one daughter, Dorothy Vaughan; two sisters; three brothers; and five infant children. He is survived by his wife, Kizzie Parker Vaughan; two sons, Lorenzo Vaughan, Centreville, Va. and John B. Vaughan Jr., Piqua, Ohio; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a very devoted friend and companion, Alma Gilliam, Christiansburg; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Claytor-Alexander and Penn Funeral Home Chapel with the Bishop Allen Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Schaefer Memorial Cemetery in Christiansburg, Va. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home. Claytor-Alexander and Penn Funeral Home, Radford, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
