DON'T BUILD ROADS TILL MONEY IS AVAILABLE

NO "PLEDGE bonds." No bonds of any kind to live on. People as well as governments are living on borrowed money. It has to be paid back sometime. Don't build the roads until money is available.

Raymond J. Lawrence (commentary June 25) listed reasons why our roads need repairs and replacements. How about the bridge over Buffalo Creek in Rockbridge County on Interstate 81? How about the bridge at Radford on I-81? Only several years old.

A recent paper listed defaults in payments on obligations caused by people who borrowed money to create something that was not needed. I fear that there will be more unless people and corporations start living within their income.
