\ Mr. Carl Clinton Jones, age 84, of 134 Kallam Road, Mt. Airy, N.C. (The White Plains Community) died on Sunday at the Berkshire Nursing Center in Vinton. Mr. Jones was born in Surry County, June 20, 1906, the oldest of thirteen children born to the late Albert S. and Emma Brintle Jones. He was a member of the White Plains Friends Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nell Simpson Jones of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Carlene and Wayne Van Dyck of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Josh and Raven Van Dyck, both of Roanoke; four sisters, Mrs. Lila Hartman, Mrs. Gertrude Woods, Mrs. Billie Jane Smith, Mrs. Jo Campbell, all of Richmond; four brothers, Harold, James L., Robert L., and Alexander Jones, all of Amelia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2:00 p.m. at the White Plains Friends Church with services conducted by Rev. David Hobson with interment following in the church cemetery. His body will remain at the Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy until time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes.
