\ Sadie Pearl Olinger, age 84, a former resident of Waynesboro, died Sunday night, July 15, 1990, in Lewis-Gale Hospital. She was born December 8, 1905, in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Jesse Brooks and Edna (Hodges) Pedigo. Mrs. Olinger had been a resident of Our Lady of the Valley Retirement Home in Salem since March. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Waynesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Oscar Olinger, on November 6, 1982; also by three brothers, Jesse, Forace, and Oscar Pedigo; and two sisters, Myrtle Howard and Vergie Cheatham. Survivors include two sons, James M. Olinger and J. Byron Olinger, both of Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Connie) Rait, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Duncan (Janie) Kerfoot, Roanoke; Mrs. J. Merton (Florence) Milton, Estero, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews including Jane Turner of Roanoke. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Waynesboro, by the Rev. Harry G. Coiner. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro. There will be no public viewing.
