\ RURAL RETREAT - George Ed Moore, age 84, of Rt. 1, died Tuesday evening, July 17, 1990, in the Smyth County Community Hospital. He was born in Whittier, N.C. He was a member of the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church for 42 years where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Moore also was a former Trustee of the Lebanon Baptist Association. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Dan M. and Pauline W. Moore, Black Mountain, N.C.; Donald J. and Iris W. Moore, Christiansburg; Lowell R. and Dolores F. Moore, Kernersville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Barry Moore, Donita Moore, Eric Moore, Jerome Moore, Lori Moore and Tyler Moore; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church with the Rev. Grady Byrd and the Rev. Jimmy Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens in Rural Retreat. The body will be taken to the church late Wednesday afternoon where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. there. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Cumi B. Moore Memorial Fund, c/o Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, Rt. 1, Box 310, Atkins, Va. 24311. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, is in charge of arrangements.
