TWO HELD IN BOMBING THAT KILLED 4 IN IRELAND

Police said today two men were being questioned about an IRA bombing that killed three police officers and the first nun to die in Northern Ireland's sectarian conflict.

The three officers of the Royal Ulster Constabulary police - the force of the Protestant-dominated British province - died instantly when an estimated half-ton of explosives was detonated beneath their car on a rural highway Tuesday, police said.

The nun was in an oncoming car.
