SALEM TEAM WINS STATE FAST-PITCH

Collegiate Pacific of Salem won the Virginia State Fast-Pitch Softball Championship on Sunday in Bedford.

The team won five games overall, defeating 257 Grocery of Harrisonburg 7-3 in the winner's bracket final and stopping Charles Town (W.Va.) Moose 10-3 in the championship game.
