GILLISPIE, OVAL B.

Oval Burl Gillispie, age 75, of Bradshaw Rd., Salem, passed away on January 30, 1991. He was the son of the late Julia Brogan Gillispie and Charlie William Gillispie. Mr. Gillispie was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired Chief Petty Officer of the Naval Reserves. He was employed by Appalachian Power Company for 35 years. He is survived by his son, Duane B. Gillispie; daughter-in-law, Melinda; grandson, Justin B. Gillispie, of Salem; also surviving are a brother, Charles E. Gillispie, Salem; five sisters, Mrs. Everett G. (Clelia) Howell; Mrs. Millie G. Swain; Mrs. Walter J. (Chelsea) Dearing, all of Salem; Mrs. Woodrow W. (Margaret) Scott, Roanoke; Mrs. M. Edward (Evelyn) Maxey, Vinton. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel on Friday. The family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 1991 with the Rev. William Stovall officiating.
