Olivia Simmons Barger passed from this life on January 31, 1991. She was born in Floyd County on May 4, 1900, but spent most of her adult life in Roanoke. She is survived by her husband, William S. Barger; two daughters, Nancy S. Motley, Roanoke; Carolyn Barger Simmons, Madison, Miss.; two brothers, Howard Simmons, Lowell, Ohio; Hugh Simmons, Willis; sister, Verbena S. Early, Salem; five grandchildren, Sharon M. Kleinman, Potomac, Md.; Shelley M. Case, Philadelphia, Pa.; Benjamin S. Motley, Roanoke; Christopher and Karen Simmons, Madison, Miss.; two sons-in-law, Kenneth L. Motley, Roanoke; Terrell M. Simmons, Madison, Miss.; four great-grandchildren; many loved nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Evergreen Burial Park at 1:00 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. John D. Cochran officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening.
