VIRGINIA TECH ROUNDTABLE WEDNESDAY

The Center for Public Administration and Policy at Virginia Tech is sponsoring a free roundtable discussion Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The speaker will be Dr. Anna M. Hardman from the department of Urban Affairs and Planning and the economics department.

She will discuss housing units the status and conditions of which are on the fringes of legality.

She will address the extent to which this type of housing exists in America as well as in the Third World, and will analyze policies on how to deal with the situation.

As an urban economist and planner, Hardman has worked in Egypt, Greece, Turkey and around the U.S. She is an Oxford University graduate and holds master's and doctoral degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The roundtable will be held at the Thomas-Conner House at 104 Draper Road in Blacksburg.
