YWCA ACQUIRES EXTENSION ON OPTION

The YWCA of Roanoke Valley said Friday it has received a two-week extension of its option to study the acquisition of the former Goodyear store building at 501 2nd St., S.W.

The organization last fall obtained an option to consider using the building for community, leadership and youth development, advocacy and public policy programs as an expansion of its operation on First Street, Southwest. That option was to expire at the end of January but has been extended to Feb. 15, according to Wendy O'Neil, YWCA executive director.
