At a recent special meeting, members accepted the architect's final plans, authorized sealed bids to be sought and approved the employment of a professional fund-raiser.
A staff member said construction is to start May 1. Between now and then members will be encouraged to make pledges toward a $600,000 goal to reduce borrowing costs.
The old church, found to be structurally unsafe several years ago, was demolished in 1988. Fellowship and education space now is used for worship.
