PULASKI DEPUTIES STILL SEEK JUVENILE

Pulaski County authorities are still looking for a Christiansburg juvenile charged in connection with a robbery and abduction that ended with a foot chase near Parrott earlier this week.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, Van Webb Franklin of Dublin on Tuesday drove to Christiansburg to pick up Charles Shannon Jr., 18, to help him move furniture. Franklin then let Shannon drive and he picked up two juveniles in Christiansburg and another juvenile in Pulaski.

The group drove to Parrott, where Franklin was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash and a tire on his pickup was slashed.

The group fled on foot and Franklin called the sheriff's department. Sheriff Ralph Dobbins and deputies spent three hours searching the hills near Parrott before arresting two of the juveniles on the railroad tracks leading out of town.

One juvenile has been charged with robbery and is in the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Home in Christiansburg. The other juvenile has not been charged.

Shannon was arrested Thursday in Giles County. He is charged with abduction and robbery by force and is in the Pulaski County jail on $20,000 bond. A grand larceny petition against the third juvenile has been issued, but he remained at large Friday.
