Otha M. Hubbard, age 96, of Goodview, died Saturday in a Roanoke hospital after a long illness. He was the son of the late Filmore and Martha Hubbard. He was retired from the American Viscose Corporation and was a World War I veteran. He was a lifelong member of Morgans Baptist Church of Moneta and also attended Barnhardt Baptist Church of Goodview. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Wallace H. Hubbard. Survivors include his devoted wife of 70 years, Hallie Ferguson Hubbard; three sons and daughters-in-law, Everett S. and Marie H. Hubbard, High Point, N.C.; Frank A. and Sadie G. Hubbard, Vinton; M. Jack Hubbard, Goodview; a daughter-in-law, Oneda Hubbard, Trenton, N.J.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Frances H. and Thurman Fisher, Roanoke; Ruth H. and Howard Melton, Moneta; Bernice H. and Robert Campbell, Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Barnhardt Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Mabrey and the Rev. J. Kenneth Peters officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel after 12:00 noon Sunday.
