OBIT THOMAS, J.

Joseph P. Thomas, age 78, of Halifax, died February 2 at his home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fannie M. Thomas; two daughters, Betty Jo Wilson, Charlotte, N.C.; Helen Thomas Archer, Salem; two brothers, Mr. John Thomas, Washington Court House, Ohio; Mr. Nelson Thomas, Rocky Mount; two half sisters, Burt Belden and Mary Ann Zunke, both of Ohio; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. with services at Beth Carr Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Meadows of the Dan Church Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held Sunday at Powell Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home, 1603 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston, Va., 24592.
