Groh, 6 feet 3 and 178 pounds, visited UVa, Maryland, Minnesota and Villanova.
Groh was an all-state selection at Randolph High in New Jersey, passing for 1,110 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. He also played free safety, punted and kicked the winning 37-yard field goal in the state championship game.
Groh, whose father played at Virginia, was rated one of the top 20 prospects in New Jersey.
In other recruiting, Wake Forest has received commitments from linebackers Kevin Giles from Phoebus High in Hampton and Andre Mason from Lakeland High in Suffolk. Giles was rated one of the top 25 prospects in Virginia by the Roanoke Times & World-News and Mason made the Second 25.
