BIG SECOND HALF LIFTS HIGHLANDERS TO VICTORY

Glenvar used a big second half to run away from Rockbridge and score a 53-35 Pioneer District boys' basketball victory Saturday.

Ahead 22-21 at halftime, the Highlanders pounded the Rebels 31-14 in the second half.

Senior Scott Wagstaff, among Timesland's leading scorers at 23 points per game, hit all eight of his free throw attempts and poured in a game-high 28 for Glenvar (9-5, 9-4).

Chad Willis added 11 points and Carlton Spinner had seven assists for the Highlanders, and Vince Reid led Rockbridge (4-11, 3-10) with 14. ROCKBRIDGE (35)
