I hope our forces over there don't hear their pronouncements and ill-conceived sentiments. Instead of undermining morale, both here and in Saudi Arabia, church leaders should be giving full blessings and prayers for our president and those putting their lives on the line to keep the world free and safe for the clerics to do their thing.
I gave four years to World War II, as did others of my generation to stop madmen and to preserve our freedom. Little did I think I was putting my life in jeopardy to provide an avenue for the likes of the protesters and demonstrators to take to the streets shouting slogans, burning the flag and practicing civil disobedience.
Apparently they are covering up something, or they have no appreciation of their American heritage and the need to preserve it. I shudder to think what kind of a world and United States we would have if they could have their way. DONALD M. JONES ROANOKE
