He was a member of the Church of Christ of Vinton, a Past Master of Wellsburg Lodge No. 2 AF & AM in Wellsburg, W.Va., and Scottish Rite Bodies of Wheeling, W.Va. Mr. Overstreet was a member of the Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, W.Va.; the Roanoke Valley Shrine Club; a life member of the Weirton Marina Club of Weirton, W.Va.; and was a permanent member of Flotilla 81, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a member of the National Railroad Historical Society, Roanoke Chapter. He attended Purdue University. Surviving are his wife, Melba A. Overstreet; daughter, Joyce O. White, and son-in-law, James M. White, both of Roanoke; grandson, J. Milton White Jr., Roanoke; granddaughter, Lisa White Cressionnie, New Orleans, La.; three brothers, Clarence R. Overstreet, Dundee, Fla.; Aaron D. Overstreet, Austin, Texas; Ray L. Overstreet, Dundee, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Frances) Johnson, Dundee, Fla.; Mrs. Martha Spencer, Athens, Ga. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John Ormond and the Rev. Gerald C. Stone officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Masonic rites will be by the Vinton Lodge No. 204 AF & AM. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
