OBIT-SHEPHERD, E.

Ethel Harrell Shepherd, age 88, of Roanoke, died Sunday. She was the widow of Clarence A. Shepherd, and was preceded in death by a son, Ned Allen Shepherd. Mrs. Shepherd was a member of Hollins Road Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Jack D. Browning; grandchildren, Michael Dillard and Sharon Browning, Antony (Sid) Charles Browning; great-grandchildren, Michael Dillard Browning II, Daniel Francis Browning, David Josiah Perfater, all of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Margaret Harrell, Salem; a number of nieces and nephews including Durward Stanley; devoted friends, Bob and Barbara McCallum. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel with Rev. J. Michael Palmer and the Rev. J. Landon Maddex officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel.
