died Saturday at the V.A. Medical Center, Salem. He was born April 21, 1922, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Richard Mason and Martha Lee Moore Montgomery. He was a retired carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Irene Rowsey Montgomery. Surviving are one son, James O. Montgomery Jr., Lexington; three sisters, Hannie M. Hostetter, Rosie M. Clark, and Oma Felton, all of Lexington; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Luther Witt and the Rev. Philip Mace officiating. Burial will follow in the New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Lexington First Aid Crew. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
