BellSouth Corp., owner of BellSouth Communications Systems Inc. of Roanoke, has been named the "most admired" utility by Fortune magazine for the third consecutive year. The selection was made in a survey of more than 8,000 executives.

Agriculture Secretary Clayton Yeutter in a letter to congressional leaders Wednesday asked the "earliest possible review" of a proposal by President Bush to delete a $425 million spending lid on farm export subsidies in the current fiscal year, which runs through Sept. 30.
