PAN AM MODIFIES BAN ON IRAQI PASSENGERS

Pan Am World Airways Wednesday modified its ban against allowing Iraqi nationals on its flights by allowing those with permanent resident status in the United States to fly, said a lawyer representing an Iraqi political refugee who had sued.

But the lawyer, Eric Lieberman, said the airline would continue to bar Iraqi nationals who had United States visas but lacked permanent resident status.

Pan Am declined comment on the policy change. - The New York Times
