PULASKI BRAVES HOME-OPENER SET

The Pulaski Braves open the Appalachian League season June 21 by entertaining the defending league champion Elizabethton Twins and close the campaign Aug. 28 after a three game trip to Elizabethton.

Another highlight of the season is a July 4 date with the visiting Kingsport Mets.

In other Appalachian League news, the league has returned to a two-division setup and will again have a league championship series.

The Southern Division includes the Braves, Bristol Tigers, Kingsport Mets, Johnson City Cardinals, and Elizabethton. The Northern Division includes the Huntington Cubs, Princeton Patriots, Bluefield Orioles, Martinsville Phillies, and Burlington Indians.

The division winners play a best-of-three series to determine the league champion. - Staff report
