UVA LAW SCHOOL BANS CIA, FBI RECRUITING

The University of Virginia law school will bar the CIA, FBI and other groups that allegedly discriminate against gays and lesbians from recruiting on the law school campus next fall, school officials said.

"We're developing a policy to ban all recruiters who discriminate against any of the groups protected in the university's non-discrimination statement," said William S. Hopson IV, director of law school placement.

"In the future, students who want to work with those groups will have to deal directly with those employers."

Hopson said the new policy will go into effect for fall semester and will not affect a scheduled visit by Central Intelligence Agency recruiters this month.
