The daily Assabah, citing an unidentified source, said two Boeing 747s were at the airport in Sfax in southeast Tunisia and that three Boeing 727s were at the airport in the southwest city of Tozeur.
Tunisian specialists examined their documents, engine numbers and other information to assure they were Iraqi-registered and not Kuwaiti planes appropriated by Iraq after its Aug. 2 invasion, the newspaper said.
