PRINCETON EATING CLUB ADMITS 27 WOMEN

Princeton University's last remaining all-male eating club admitted 27 women after more than a decade of legal battles to keep women out.

The new additions announced Sunday came after about 100 years of male dominance at the Tiger Inn, one of five such clubs on campus that remain selective.

Princeton has 13 eating clubs that serve as dining and social centers for about 70 percent of upper-class students.

Tiger Inn chose 27 women and 57 men as its first mixed-sex group after a weeklong selection process known as a "bicker." About 170 sophomores vied for spots in the socializing competition.
