EANES, DARYLE C.

After a year's valiant and courageous battle against cancer, Daryle Clayton Eanes passed into a larger realm of living on Sunday, February 10, at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Va. He was born on June 9, 1931 to Thelma Fulcher Eanes and Charles Preston Eanes, of Vinton. Upon graduation from the Viaud's School in Roanoke City, he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Korean War. He retired from the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station in 1985 as a Supervisory Planner and Estimator after 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Preston Eanes, Roanoke. He is survived by his wife, Alice Eanes, of Grafton; and a son, Richard Lawson Eanes and daughter-in-law, Teresa Eanes, Seaford; also his mother, Thelma Fulcher Eanes; a sister, Charlean Eanes Fisher and brother-in-law, Thomas Curry Fisher, Jr., all of Roanoke; two nieces, also survive, Elizabeth Fisher Smith; Cincinnati, Ohio; Kathryn Fisher Rubbins, Montclair, N.J.; and nephew, Thomas Curry Fisher, III, Roanoke. A cremation service is private to be followed by a memorial service in the Chapel of the Amory Funeral Home in Grafton, Va. on February 13 at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service. At the time of his death he was a member of the Yorktown Fleet Reserve Association and Mt. Zion Methodist Church. The family request memorials be made to the York County Rescue Squad.
