ROANOKER'S THROAT SLASHED WITH RAZOR

A 30-year-old Northwest Roanoke man was in stable condition today after having his throat slashed with a razor Saturday, police said.

Fabian A. Martin, 30, of the 800 block of Fairfax Avenue, told police a man and a woman approached him as he emerged from an alley off Eighth Street Northwest. When he denied having money, the woman cut him across the throat.

Police said they were told the two assailants left in a gray vehicle with its rear window broken out. The woman was wearing what appeared to be a black beaver hat.

Martin's condition was unavailable late Sunday.
