VMI LOSES FORWARD PETZOLD FOR REMAINDER OF THE SEASON

VMI has lost the services of junior forward Charlie Petzold for the remainder of the season.

Petzold, the Keydets' second-leading rebounder, will undergo an operation for heel spurs in both feet, Keydets coach Joe Cantafio said Tuesday.

Petzold averaged 5.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in VMI's first 19 games. Petzold missed the club's past four games.

"Charlie has given us some outstanding inside play, and his loss is a definite blow to our depth in the frontcourt," Cantafio said. - Staff report
