Lions Club distributes Braille watches for blind

The Cave Spring Lions Club has given Braille Seiko watches to six blind individuals.

The watches, which were donated by Fink's Jewelers, were given to Mildred Brown of Northeast Roanoke, Mary Burnette of Southwest Roanoke, Monty Brown of Southeast Roanoke, Clarence Little of Vinton, Martha Trail of Ferrum and Shirley Beasley of Christiansburg.

The watch recipients were selected through the Eye Bank of Virginia. > Methodist preschool holds fall registration

The South Roanoke United Methodist Church Weekday Preschool has opened registration for the 1991-92 session.

Classes are offered for children 18 months to 5 years of age. The classes range from one day to five days weekly, depending on the age of the child. Hours are weekdays, 9 a.m. until noon.

The fall session will begin the Tuesday after Labor Day and will continue through the Friday before Memorial Day. A $40 registration fee will reserve a place in the fall class.
