MURRAY, WALTER E.

Walter Edward (Tommy) Murray, age 75, died Saturday, February 16, 1991, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Murray was born October 26, 1915, at Lynch Station, a son of Nel Arthur Murray and the late Walter Eugene Murray. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, a charter and life member of the Lexington Life Saving Crew, and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Murray was retired as the Assistant Post Master of the Lexington Post Office with 24 years service. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Marjorie McCormick Murray; one son, Anthony Morris Murray, Lexington; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret M. Kerr and Mrs. Frances M. Nuckols, both of Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 1991, at the graveside in the Green Hill Cemetery officiated by the Rev. William Thomas. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Lexington First Aid Crew and/or the Buena Vista First Aid Crew. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
