Sarah Jane (Janie) Cash, age 45, of Hardy, died Saturday. She was an employee of Roanoke Memorial Hospital and was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Smith. Surviving are her husband, Ernest Wayne Cash; son, Gary Wayne Smith Jr.; stepson, Michael Lynn Cash, all of Hardy; sisters, Ruby Ferguson, Boones Mill; Winnie Milam, Arlena Yopp, Lena Hardy, all of Roanoke; Nancy Crunkleton, Montvale; brothers, Robert Sloan, Andrew Sloan, John Thomas Sloan, all of Roanoke; Arthur Leo Sloan, Colorado; several nieces and nephews. Services will be from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. J. Donald Abshire and the Rev. Carter Sloan will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Church Cemetery, Franklin County. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel after 12:00 noon Monday.
